When the boys were babies, I purchased my first serger. Over the years, I have played with it, but never really learned to "use" it. So, over a month ago, I signed up for a "Serger Savvy" class offered by a friend of mine at her Granbury quilt shop. Following the class, I just had to do a bit of shopping in her fabric boutique. I discovered chalkboard fabric. Debbie had a project sheet detailing the instructions to make a "Chalkboard Mat".I bought the supplies and several weeks later, finally sat down the week of Thanksgiving to make these for my young
est nieces and nephews who range in age from 2 1/2 to 9.These mats hold several pieces of chalk and a sponge eraser. They roll into a nice bundle with a carry handle. All of the kids seemed to enjoy them!
